ISIS Attack Has Extraordinary Implications And Ramifications For Gulf Shipping.

THIS ISIS ATTACK HAS HUGE IMPLICATIONS. Joint Chiefs Chairman General Martin E. Dempsey and Defense Secretary Ashton Carter will dismiss this attack as a mere maritime skrimish, but won’t say much so long as their lips are stuck to Obama’s backside. Suppose ISIS soon decides to disrupt merchant shipping (oil tankers) in the Strait of Hormuz and the el-Mandab Strait, cutting off the flow of Black Gold upon which we and the rest of the modern world are so dependent? Obama sent a lone American Navy Warship, the USS Laboon (DDG-58) on a tenuous voyage to a Black Sea Ukranian port, instead of having it on patrol in the Arabian Gulf. I addressed this in a separate SITREP days ago: http://spears2020.com/the-uss-laboon-sent-into-the-abyss/. This debacle is inexcusable! As President I will remove the CNO and retire him from the Navy, and ask Ashton Carter for his resignation, neither man to ever again be employed by the U.S. Government in any capacity.

The BBC just posted an article about the ISIS missile attack, with analysis by its Security Correspondent: “Analysis: BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner Not surprisingly, there is a wide gap between the two versions reporting the maritime attack off the north coast of Sinai. IS – specifically their local affiliate called ‘Sinai province’ – claim they fired a shore-to-ship missile at the craft and support this with photos on social media showing a massive fireball that would certainly have killed many crew and possibly destroyed the whole ship. Egypt officially denies there were any casualties, saying there was a fire-fight during which a coastguard boat was set on fire. Since anyone found contradicting official casualty figures there risks a $60,000 fine, it is likely that the truth lies somewhere between the two versions. Either way, this is a worrying development for shipping in the region. It comes just two weeks after a major battle between Egyptian forces and IS in Sinai, and it’s clearly proving difficult to remove the militants and their growing arsenal from the area.” [Emphasis added.] http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-33557180

It may be karma an Egyptian Navy Ship was hit by an ISIS missile. Some of you may recall an event that occurred on October 20, 1967, in International Waters 13.5 nautical miles off Port Said, Sinai. An Egyptian missile boat attacked INS (Israeli Naval Ship) Eilat while she was on routine patrol. Her communications and propulsion systems were disabled, fire began to spread on deck, and she began to capsize. According to idf-blog.com, “. . . [a]pproximately an hour and a half after the initial impact, another Egyptian missile boat left Port Said and attacked the destroyer. One of the missiles hit the ship astern, and caused a conflagration near the weapons storage area of the ship. The stores caught on fire, and their contents began to explode. All of the 199 crew members of the ship began to abandon ship.” Eilat exploded and sunk. Of her crew 97 were KIA; 91 were injured. https://www.idfblog.com/blog/2012/10/21/today-in-history-the-sinking-of-ins-eilat/

NOT ON MY WATCH AS COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF!

The current attack is reminiscent of the USS Cole (DDG-67) that al-Qaeda attacked in the Port of Aden, Yemen, on 12 October 2000, while she was being refueled. 17 American sailors were killed, and 39 were injured. Another collosal blunder by the Commander-in-Chief, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and the CNO!

This event was the deadliest attack against a United States Naval vessel since the attack on the USS Stark (FFG-31) on 17 May 1987, when an Iraqi jet aircraft fired two Exocet missiles at her killing 37 Sailors and injuring 21 more. This attack was excused by the Administration, Joint Chiefs and CNO as an unfortunate accident.
